Burn Wood Feel Good - It's the way we live.
We’re a father and son team who took over the small, locally run Central Firewood Waikato business in March 2024, with a vision to grow it into the Waikato’s preferred supplier of quality firewood.
As builders by trade, and fire lovers by nature, we’ve spent the last two years expanding the operation, listening to customer feedback, and shaping a business that reflects what people truly want: honest communication, consistent quality, and wood that burns beautifully.
Fire has always been a big part of our lives. Whether it’s a cosy indoor fire, a brazier outside, a bonfire with friends, or roasting marshmallows with the kids, we love the warmth, the smell, and the feeling of a good roaring fire. That passion drives everything we do, from how we source our wood to how we prepare it.
Locally Sourced, Carefully Prepared
We work closely with local arborists and also carry out some tree felling ourselves, ensuring our wood is sustainably and responsibly sourced. All firewood is seasoned in our new shed in Newstead, designed with open sides for natural airflow.
Quality You Can Count On
Our processor cuts wood to a consistent 280mm length, and we can provide custom sizes for a small fee. We offer a range of mixes to suit different burners and preferences, and from next season, you’ll be able to choose between bulk cube loads or convenient bagged firewood.
Delivery & Collection
We deliver across the Waikato in our certified 7‑cube tipper truck (MBIE‑approved). Collection is available from our Marshmeadow Road location by appointment only, ensuring your order is ready and waiting when you arrive.
A Family Business, Built for the Community
Central Firewood Waikato isn’t just the two of us, our partners are involved too, helping with advertising, sales, accounts, and customer service. The grandkids also pitch in with sorting kindling, packing firewood bags, and helping keep the yard tidy. It’s a practical, hands‑on family operation, and everyone plays a part in getting firewood out the gate.
